A few years ago, the Department of Labour embarked on a process to modify the existing Vessels Under Pressure Regulations, as stated in the OHSA 85 of 1993. These modifications have been gazetted and the Pressure Equipment Regulations now supersede the VUP regs.
The result of the new regulations is now tighter control on the companies that carry out inspection and testing as well as quality control. In other words, all companies carrying out inspection and testing on pressure equipment must be Accredited Inspection Authorities with SANAS for both in-service and new equipment.
In terms of OHSA 85 of 1993 and the Minerals act 50 of 1991 all pressure equipment or pressure vessels must be inspected and or tested at regular intervals. Preparation, Inspection, Testing and Repair
Euro Industrial Refrigeration performs preparation, inspection, testing and repair by welding of all boilers, pressure vessels, refrigeration plants and related pressurised systems. Testing is performed by competent staff to the requirements of the OHS/Minerals ACT.
We also supply any components related for the use and maintenance of boilers and pressure vessels. VIS also assist in the installation of pressure vessels, boilers (including registration) and re-certification of vessels not identified or bearing a nameplate as required by the ACT. Vessels Inspection Services also performs load testing of lifting devices such as crawl beams, hoists, slings and other related equipment.
